A riding centre on the edge of the forest

Arbonne Équitation has a riding school, pony club, holiday courses, livery and accompanied rides in the forest. The centre is in Arbonne-la-Forêt, close to paths into the forest when access conditions allow.

Your first trail ride

Be open about your experience, age, height and any nervousness. The words “beginner level” can cover very different situations. The centre can then choose a suitable horse, allow enough time to get comfortable and plan an outing that works for the group.

Arrive at the time requested. Preparing the horse, fitting your helmet and listening to the briefing are all part of the activity. Wear comfortable trousers and footwear that meets the centre’s advice.

For children

There is more to choosing a pony-club session or holiday course than its length. Ask about the minimum age, the group’s level, time spent caring for the ponies and what children need to bring. A short first meeting may be happier than a day that tries to pack in too much.

A horse needs room to pass. Walkers should step calmly to one side, while dog owners should keep their animals close. If you are riding, follow your guide and do not leave the group for a photograph.

After your session, stay nearby. A pause in Arbonne or a very short stroll is enough. Save the walk near Arbonne for a day when your legs are fresh.
